Streely reggae, mon

Procrastination, part 2.
Multitasking on the computer means playing internet radio with optional trippy Windows Media Player "visualizations". I like WERS. Weeknight evenings 7 - 10 pm means the "Rockers" show. I decided to look up the Rockers term on wikipedia and found some discussion of the etymology of the word "reggae". According to this extremely credible source, "reggae" sounds a lot like (and may or may not be related to) the term "streggae," an adjective applied to a disheveled looking person. Not good bed-head sweet-disorder-in-the-dress type disheveled, more like mug shot disheveled. Can it be a COINCIDENCE that streggae sounds kind of like "streely" an adjective that appears in Joyce's Ulysses and is used by my mother, 2nd generation Irish-American, to mean disorderly in appearance? I think not...
