The protagonist of Walker Percy's The Moviegoer derives meaning from what is on film or narrated. He feels more secure when he recognizes a place he knows from a film or book. I think this why I like this video I saw on Boston.com - two guys bedecked in retro jogging gear, running what is basically my bus route to and from work.
